I'm a member of the research staff at Xerox PARC, where I do work that sits somewhere between user interfaces and distributed object systems (which is a pretty wide span, admittedly). My work page has the full details, in case you're interested. There are also links to some of my writing there. In the course of all that I found time to learn about Jini and decided to write a book on it to help others get into this rather nifty technology.
